Welcome to our periodic reminder that you should sign up for the monthly Rimon e-guide, delivered to your inbox the first week of every month with pages and pages of Jewish (or Jewish-adjacent) Twin Cities arts opportunities.

Here, a few Jewish art events in the twin cities that caught our eye this month. For more, check out Rimon’s October e-guide!

Thursday, October 14 through December 20: Who doesn’t love a Rube Goldberg machine? The Minnesota JCC is exploring the legacy of Rube Goldberg himself through two exhibitions, one at each branch of the JCC. The Sabes Center in Minneapolis has machines; the Capp Center in St. Paul has Golderg’s political cartoons.

Saturday, October 16, 7 p.m. It’s opening night of the Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival! The first film, Here We Are, follows Aharon and his autistic son Uri as they face the reality of Uri becoming a young adult. Be sure to check out all of the amazing films this year!

Saturday, October 23, 8 p.m. through November 14: Six Points Theater presents The People’s Violin, an intriguing and suspenseful drama involving a mysterious violin (aren’t you intrigued?!)

Ongoing. Check out the Jewish Artists' Laboratory’s latest exhibition, Brokenness & Wholeness, online. The art in this exhibit ranges from video to sculpture to poetry and was created by pairs of intergenerational artists.

If you can’t get enough Rube Goldberg, save the date for November 7, when Rimon kicks off its Artist Salon season at Leonardo’s Basement in south Minneapolis. Stay tuned for more details on At Play: Art, Technology, and Imagination.
