Want to volunteer in the Jewish community?

Through your e-mails, calls, and requests, you’ve made something clear: you want to volunteer in the Jewish community! We worked with some of our local partners to put together a list of hands-on volunteer opportunities.

Make a difference, meet new people, and get to know some crucial places in your Jewish community through one of these incredible orgs that have supported our community through the pandemic and beyond!

Thank you to our Caring Community Committee for making these connections and helping put this list together. Minneapolis Jewish Federation is proud to connect the community through tzedakah, tikkun olam, and more!

JFCS of Minneapolis offers short- and long-term volunteer opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in the services provided to those in need in both the Jewish and broader communities. Volunteer needs and opportunities fluctuate throughout the year.

JFCS has COVID-19 safety protocols in place following CDC recommendations.

Here are some of the ways to get involved:

• Participate in Hag Sameach (Happy Holidays) Program supporting families in need during Passover and Hanukkah and throughout the year

• Ease isolation of Senior Service clients living independently as an Outreach Visitor or Telephone Reassurance Volunteer

• Provide essential rides for JFCS clients through the Garber Transportation Program

• Join JFCS’s NextGen group and volunteer with others adults in their 20s and 30s

• And more!

If any of the above interest you, contact Dana Shapiro at dshapiro@jfcsmpls.org or (952) 417-2112, and she will connect with you about next steps.

Sholom has the following volunteer needs at Menorah Plaza:
